Updated: Jul 2, 2020

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I’d like to welcome you to my website and my blog. It’s great to have you here! And secondly, let me tell you a little about myself that might help you understand how I got started with building my own business living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, having originally been born and living most of my life in the UK.

Here's a little bit about me

I have been lucky enough to have lived in four countries so far, starting in the UK where I was born and then living in Tripoli, Libya until I was 9 years old. I think living abroad kind of stuck with me since then, as I went through school, university, securing various jobs and then eventually getting married and having my three gorgeous children, very comfortably settled in a suburb of South West London living what many would say is the good life. And certainly, a good life it was!

Finding Balance as an Entrepreneur

However, as many entrepreneurs will attest to, the predictability of life was not something I was accustomed to. I like change, new ideas, and diverse viewpoints, as well as innovative thinking, meeting different types of people with varied backgrounds and experiences and new environments. As a Master NLP Coach, I can tell you that we all fall somewhere on the spectrum from wanting to live our life with high levels of certainty knowing exactly what is happening each day with set routines in place to not knowing what tomorrow brings, living far more precariously with complete uncertainty. And although I definitely need some level of certainty in my life, I know to feel alive and perform at my best, I need levels of uncertainty that keep me on my toes and ready to adapt to what’s next, so I definitely err on the more uncertain side of the spectrum. Of course, there is nothing wrong with being closer to the needing certainty end of the spectrum, if that makes you feel safe and excited about how you live your life. We are all designed in our own unique way and so much of what I do is about aligning the innermost part of you with your external reality, knowing who you are and what you want and designing the best outcome for you. This applies to us as individuals every bit as much as it does to our companies.

Being at your best self is not only good for our personal well-being but it makes radical good business sense to achieve peak performance and build capable, confident teams that are resilient and create incredible results for everyone around them.

Achieving a Healthy Company Culture

Employees should always be working towards a common, clear goal

Building a sound company culture is one of the best investments any business can make. You can realise your biggest dreams if you take time to build a solid foundation and the foundation of any company is its people. In the same way that people have distinct personalities, so does every company. I have been to countless businesses in my time, and you can sense the company’s personality as soon as you walk through the doors, from the way the working space is set up to the employees' expressions around the office. Its feel is unique to that space, and that goes beyond the physical environment, it includes the underlying culture, work ethics, values, the mission and vision of the company and how everyone is expected to exist in that space. If your people are not behind the main goals of your company, you will not get the required energy to make your dreams a reality without constant pushing and much frustration. However, if employees have a sense of camaraderie and clear purpose as to why they are there and what they are contributing towards, they will give their full energy willingly and completely.

I know which one makes more sense in my world! Everything I have learnt about bringing the best out of people as a coach leads me to believe that company’s investing in their people is key to achieving a healthy company culture as well as making good profits.

Yes you can have it all!
